We have been watching the technology behind the Visual WebGui by Gizmox with some interest since last year. The server side AJAX framework based on ASP.NET seem to provide security, scalability and performance.

I want to say that this tool could be a game-changer. Like a lot of folks who have been around too long in this business, I remember the buzz when Visual Basic hit the market. Back then, to build Windows applications you had to choose between WinSDK+C, or use a 3rd party tools like PowerBuilder or Gupta. Then VB changed everything. The average developer could jump in and build pretty functional Windows apps with a nominal amount of training...
A few months ago we, were commissioned to undertake a project that required what most of us in the office cringe at, an ASP project, more specifically and ASP intranet project. So after some bad and tedious experiences with ASP just a few weeks earlier but still wanting to do this project, we scoured the interwebs for any tool that could some how help our interaction with ASP. We found what can only be described as a GOD-Sent, Visual WebGUI or VWG as its known.
I quite like the look of - Visual WebGui - it build on lots of Microsoft stuff I already know, it produces very cool looking AJAX applications very quickly, it hides lots of nasty javascript and D/XHTML complexities from you...
