As revealed before, the new version 6.2 presents an improved developer experience with its complete integration into Visual Studio, and the consolidated installation process. In addition, it also presents improved compatibility to development environments.
Improved Compatibility
The new version can also be installed without Visual Studio and allows to develop web from almost any machine with either the free Visual Studio Express edition, SharpDevelop, or even Notepad.
Visual Studio full integration
The new Visual WebGui 6.2 integration into Visual Studio allows Visual WebGui projects to be configured within Visual Studio native property pages with no need for manually configuration of the Web.Config files.
The entire Visual WebGui project configuration is now placed in 3 tabs (General, Registration, and Deployment) according to the type of configuration.

Consolidated Installation Process
The new 6.2 version also introduces an upgraded installation process which consolidates all Visual WebGui products, SDK installation, extensions and documentation into one single step-by-step enhanced experience.
In addition to allowing developers to install all features as one package, the new installation process presents advanced developers with details about the included features and their hierarchy and gives the option to include only the desired features.

SDK – the basic assemblies that are the element of the Visual WebGui product
SDK Extensions – Assemblies for extended tools to improve usability and functionality of the Visual WebGui application.
Visual Studio Integration - A set of Visual Studio integrated components for Visual WebGui developers:
- VWG Projects – Visual WebGui integrated projects system
- VWG Core templates – Visual WebGui designated project templates and items templates including Visual Studio (special buttons, views, properties etc.)
- VWG Silverlight templates - Visual WebGui designated Silverlight project templates for creating themes and custom Silverlight controls
- Documentation – Visual WebGui integrated documentation for Visual Studio developers - all just one F11 click away.

You mean the unstable version 6.2 is available for download. Frankly, I have issues with your stable versions so I am not about to try your 6.2 yet. Also, I downloaded 6.1.4 for .NET 3.5, then I downloaded the catalog sample application, when I opened the sample app in VS 2008, VS2008 wants to convert it. Why, should it not be 3.5 format?

Thank you for the input.
Within the Gizmox.WebGUI.SDK.Catalog.6.1.4_NET35.zip file you should see a project named Gizmox.WebGUI.Forms.Catalog.3.5.csproj which is VS2008 format and should not be converted. Anyway, please post any issue you bump into with v6.1.4 within the forum, we will handle every issue in order to stabilize the system!

I can't believe you give such a dry response. I suggest you download the sample and open with VS2008 and then let me know if it needs converting or not. I don't have a problem with converting it, the problem is that it fails.

Hi Besema,
Just did actually, once more after I did the same check before I’ve answered you previously.
Please note that in order to open a VS 2008 project file, you should select devenv.exe from within the VS 2009 (version 9.0) - no automatic selector will open it correctly... I mean, opening this project file with 2008 works without any need to convert anything... please re-check that you are not actually using 2005 (even though you have VS 2008 installed) - because, as I mentioned, the automatic selector DOES NOT work with project files and often open the wron version of VS...
Alternatively, you can open the .SLN file which works well and should open VS2008 successfully.

Is 6.2 now stable version ? As the website shows it is still in the alpha release.
Does it supports object binding ? similar to winforms where you drag and drop the the fields from data sources window you get the label and text box automatically drawn on the form.
