Re: Print User-Generated Image

Hi Chris,

Getting it into the Toolbox is the easy part

You expand the toolbox, right click to choose items and there you should find a Browse button which you use to browse to your project's bin folder and select the control.

Hope this helps,

Palli

Re: Print User-Generated Image

Yeah, I thought that was the easy part too, but alas I was wrong. :-)

Unfortunately I already tried that a number of times and it just won't show up.  I can do it with any other .dll/control I've got, but the one particular one I need just does not appear.  I've even tried it on different computers and different versions of the control, including their newer demo, but alas it just does not appear anywhere in the toolbox, even if I create an entirely new tab for just it.  I can even get their report control in there, but not the viewer.

Re: Print User-Generated Image

Hi,

This is an ASP.NET control you are talking about, right ?

Anyway, have you tried asking in the Stimulsoft forums ?

Can you create a standard ASP.NET web application and get it into the toolbox there ?

 Hi,

As an alternative, you might try creating a PDF file (on the fly) with an embedded image.  You can use the iTextSharp libs from SourceForge.net.  This might simplify things a lot for you.

Look at this code snippet about creating PDF reports on the fly:

www.visualwebgui.com/Developers/Resources/Codes/tabid/326/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/798/PDF-Printing-Example-for-VisualWebGUI.aspx

Look at this documentation about imbeding graphics in a PDF report:

itextsharp.sourceforge.net/tutorial/ch06.html

Hope this helps, just a thought.

Regards, Kenn

Yes, it is ASP.Net, and no I could not get it into the toolbox in any way shape or form, even with a complete uninstall of VWG.   I have seen the toolbox issue come up in their forums , but they have no solution as of this time.   It's basically an "it happens" kind of thing on their end.  I was hoping there might be a manual way to circumvent the drag 'n drop when wrapping it or someone who had a wrapped version the control we could use.

That's pretty neat.  Right now my immediate printing issue is solved with Palli's solution though.  Stimulsoft would just provide a way to make the printout easily customizeable for both us and our users and give users options to export it to file format of their choosing and/or E-mail it.

Thanks for the suggestion though! :-)
