Missing Windows Azure SDK v1.3
Modified By ContainsCaffeine on 1/24/2012 4:39:06 PM)

Initially I had installed 6.4 with sources. However when publishing to Azure missing DLLs were detected. In another post it was suggested part of the solution was to uninstall 6.4 with sources and install 6.4 without sources.

However the installer for VWG Build 6.4.0 Release JQT Beta2b reports: VWG Web Role Templates will not be installed (Missing Windows Azure SDK v1.3). A workaround in this thread http://www.visualwebgui.com/Developers/Forums/tabid/364/forumid/63/threadid/48275/scope/posts/Default.aspx suggests uninstaling the current Windows Azure SDK, then installing Windows Azure SDK v1.3, then installing VWG, then installing the current version of Windows Azure SDK.

It seems Windows Azure SDK v1.3 is no longer available. I tried using Windows Azure SDK v1.4 but got the same error. Is there another workaround? How do I install VWG .NETHTML5 with the current Windows Azure SDK (v1.6)?

Re: Missing Windows Azure SDK v1.3

Hi,

For the JQT Beta2b version, the only available workaround is still the same as posted on that thred. You can find links to the most recent Azure SDK, as well as archived (older) versions in the Cloud article, under Other References.

Regarding the 1.6 version of the Azure SDK, thanks for bringing that to our attention. We have already a work in progress for adding support for version 1.5, and I will comment on the tracker entry here that version 1.6 is the current one.

Thanks,

Palli

I didn't realise there was a Windows Azure SDK archive. That's done the trick.

Thank you Palli. You are a star!

Whoopsie daisy ... not quite there ... VWG 6.4 without sources installed without reporting that web templates woud not be installed, but there are still no VWG web role templates.

IN VS2010 Add New Project under Cloud all I see is Windows Azure Project. Under VWG all I see is VWG Library and VWG Application.

What should I try next?

Re: Missing Windows Azure SDK v1.3

Hi,

FYI, Gizmox doesn't keep archives of old Azure SDK version(s). After some lurking on the Microsoft site, I found this link and added it to our Cloud article... we do keep track of quite a few useful links :-)

Regarding your missing project template, then I confirm this, and after quite a few installations and reinstallations I was able to pinpoint the problem and added a new tracker entry. Please view it here and follow up on our progress.

Please note that this entry has a suggested workaround that I added, which is quite easy to perform actually, but it's fully manual and must be repeated after each installation of a new Visual WebGui version, until it's fixed.

Hope this helps,

Palli
