Deploying FCKEditor?

I am able to get the FCKEditor working within development using Visual Studio 2008. However, each time I deploy and then try to pull up a page using the FCKEditor control I get a page not found error. What do I need to do specifically deploy to get the FCKEditor to function correctly?

Hello Joe!

You probably need to make modifications to the security/permissions of the Resources directory of the FCKEditor. This control stores resources in this directory, and if they are not accessible, you will not be able to use it.

Ori,

Currently, there is no resources folder within the FCKEditor folder. I tried creating one but it didn't make a difference. Whenever I switch to the tab that has the FCKEditor on it I receive page not found error. Any other ideas?

Hi Joe!

It's not enough to create the resources folder. You should copy it as is from your development project to production project to the same place. It must contain JS, PHP and many more files neccessary for the editor. When you copy this folder make sure that the folder is accessible under virtual directory, that security restrictions allow accessing this folder from IIS.

Arseny,

Could you be more specific in the security restrictions? I have copied the FCKeditor folder over to IIS and have given the local-computer/ASPNET, local-computer/Internet Guest Account, and Everyone full access to the folder. I still get page not found when trying to display the editor within my program.

Has anyone else been successful in deploying the FCKeditor on Windows 2003 server / IIS?
