Hi Guys,
We are at our final stages of releasing 6.4 preview 3 and it will be released tomorrow 8/10/2009.
6.4P3 is a 526 issues version... which is a huge version and as you can see from the issue tracker in 6.4P4 it is already under massive QA which is done by our QA team. We are releasing 6.4P3 tomorrow as a version that will reflect our current development status so it might as any preview contain some critical bugs. This is truly a revolutionary version that handles many long time standing issues and a few very desired issues that we managed to complete.
We are planing to release 6.4P4 in 19/10/2009 and it is planed to be the last preview after which we are committed to start the stabilization process. After 6.4P4 we will start releasing 6.4.x beta versions which will be stabilizing versions of 6.4 and we will start the count down to the release candidate which we hope that with our QA team, beta testers, community members and our devoted development team, will be a fast process that will enable you guys to utilize 6.4 as soon as possible.
Visual WebGui 6.4 all in all is going to be the largest version ever to released (approximately 1000 issues) and I think that you will find that in-terms of stability, performance, extensibility and capabilities it is almost a different product.
Important message for SVN users:
As of version 6.4P3 the compilation process includes a build task that makes the resx resources safe for non full trust environments. This information is valuable only for you guys that are working directly with the SVN sources and it means that you will need to "install" a build task which is a folder that should be located in "C:\Program Files\MSBuild". The easiest way to do it is to create a folder named "Gizmox" with in the MSBuild directory and to checkout using tortoise from the following url "http://72.55.165.182/svn/Public/Build/Gizmox". Again this is only relavent when working with the SVN sources as installed versions do the job for you.
Cheers,
Guy
