6.4 beta 1 which is coming out soon has a ListView which can add controls as sub items
Modified By Guy on 1/14/2010 3:49:39 AM)

 Hi Guys,

Just wanted to share with you a capability that I guess is very important for many projects, which is the ability to add controls with in the list. For example if you want every listview item to have a button for deleting you can do it. You can event add textboxs and such.... basically any control.

Here is the issue with a code sample of how to pull such a behavior.

Cheers,
Guy

I agree... we use listviews everywhere, but we have to use linkbuttons or toolbarbuttons to perform actions against the selected item.  It will be much more intuitive to have an in-situ button to perform actions.

This feature really makes the listview more usable. Wish it was available in the 6.3.. code base!

Sounds, great, can you add a listview to a listview column also?

Hi Tom,

I have not tested this myself, this is still screaming hot, but as far as I have heard, you can add any control you like. You can even add a Form if you wish.

This dramatically uppers the power of the ListView, so much in fact, that I personally will probably think twice before I select the DataGridView, as this "new" ListView has greater expandability than the DataGridView at the moment.
