Visual Studio 2012
Modified By roi972 on 8/3/2012 6:46:18 AM)

 Hey VWG,

I know it's still in beta stages, but is it possible to work with the latest VWG winweb (or any other release) and visual studio 11 (maybe a workaround?) ?

Thanks,

Roi

Re: Visual Studio 11 Beta

 Hi Roi,

I am not aware that this has been tested yet.

I will ask around and check if we have any info and will post an update when I have more information.

Re: Visual Studio 11 Beta

 Hi Palli,

Thanks for the reply. Maybe it's wise to wait for VS 11 RC ... (although I'm guessing the VWG template will "possibly" work on both the beta and the RC version).

Roi.

Re: Visual Studio 11 Beta

 Hi Roi,

Current versions of Visual WebGui check specifically for the existance of the Visual Studio version they are intended for. This means that installing the closest NET version, NET 4.0 for VS2010, refuses to install without Visual Studio 2010 installed.

Although you could install it, you would not have any integrations, templates or designer support within Visual Studio 2011. This means there will have to be a VS2011 Visual WebGui release, and I have requested more information on our plans to support that.

We will update the community as soon as there are any official plans for this to happen.

Re: Visual Studio 11 Beta

 Hi Roi,

I got an update from the developers and their opinion is and was exactly the same as yours, that the first betas were not stable enough to be worth allocating time to it for now, but they keep a close watch on the situation.
