TaskVision sample

Hi all. I'm using VS2008 to try and compile the TaskVision sample.

So far I've fixed some of the problems with:
1. web references (incomplete namespaces and bad project WSDL path) .
2. splitcontainer - changed refs to System.Windows.Forms

However I'm still left with a bunch of errors re

1. TextImageRelation property on buttons
2. Changes to methods in AuthWS and DataWS, mostly I think due to new async methods.

Does anyone have fixes for these? The TaskVision sample looks like an excellent example of a useful real-world app and would make an excellent ad for VWG. The fact it just does not work is a real showstopper and dents early adopter confidence.

Hi,

This application is a little sensitive because of the WSDL.

You don't have to change nothing.

I've just downloaded it from the site and run it.

because it a little old I had to remove lines with .DropDownWidth = -1;

And every thing works fine.

Delete what you have done and try again , it should work.

Thanks. I did get the demo partially working after ensuring that I had the very latest version of VWG installed (!). There are problems out of the box with the config.web file when using VS 2008. However I have still got problems with the data layer - after I updated web references I get some compilation errors due to changes in the interface. It looks like the Begin/End methods have been replaced as XXXAsync calls. Have you looked at this?

Question: Where can I find the schema of the remote database this project uses? It might be good to adapt the setup to use a local database server.

Once (if) I get a chance to clean up the project I will upload the package so there is an oven-ready demo new users can download/compile/run.

Hi,

I will update the application but it will take some time.

I know it has problems with the web services, Microsoft keep updating them.

Again, try to open it from the start on VS 2005 - you should not have problems.

Thanks - all good stuff but please bear in mind that I no longer have VS2005 installed - all new work now uses VS2008. I'm not certain this will be true for everyone but I suspect it will be frequent enough to warrant the project working out of the box.
