Type Mismatch that won't go away

Hi

Getting spurious behaviour from VWG during development after I installed WM 5.0 R2 PPC SDK  yesterday.

Getting a 'Type Mismatch' error when trying to open one of our standard app windows when we run from within VS2008:

File: Resources.Gizmox.WebGUI.Forms.Form.js

Error occurs at: v581.appendChild(v580)

We are using VS2008 GDR and have it installed on a W2K3R2 server machine on a hosted server from which we also run out client VWG applications.

I followed the instructions to clear out the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled VWG 6.3.13, and even created a brand new solution but

still got the same error.

Everything works fine when accessed over the web from a different machine......but won't even work when accessing the customer facing version of the application when on the server itself (ie the IIS running version).

So it seems it is some sort of caching issue that is still there.

Anyway, is there somewhere that I can download 6.3.12 professional version without the source code? I have about 500 C# VWG Projects within the solutions and don't want to go migrrating each project to the source version manually.

Alternatively, perhaps someone from VWG could contact me off this list and I can give them login instructions so they can debugwhat might be going on??

Thanks

Andrew

Re: Type Mismatch that won't go away

Hi Andrew,

After you uninstall Visual WebGui, make a search in the GAC and see if there are any Gizmox assemblies leftovers, except for Licensing related DLLs. Also search the previous Gizmox installation folder and make sure there are none.

I assume you have both cleared out the browser's cache, as well as the ASP.NET temporary files folder? Not sure how it's on W2K3R2, but on my Vista, there are two such folders, one on the usual place and one in the user's profile. Make sure you clear them both and then restart IIS.

I'm personally using 6.3.13 NET3.5 at work and don't have any of these problems, so I agree with you that it sounds like caching or old DLL leftovers.

If you still need the 6.3.12 without sources installation, please drop me an email, and I will see what I can do. My email address you will find in my signature.
