Catalog sample not working

Hey guys,

I just downloaded the latest Catalog sample (VWG_Catalog_Sample_6.4.0_Release_JQT_Beta3_NET4.0), installed it but cannot open the project in Visual Studio 2010 (project not supported). I am using the VWG_Express_Studio_6.4.0_Release_JQT_Beta3_NET4.0 installation and this works fine for creating new projects.

I tried to create a new project and added all the Catalog sample files but when startting the app I get errors on the Web.config file of the catalog sample. I see references to 2.0 Gizmox files.

The Catalog sample for .NET 4 is useles now.

Re: Catalog sample not working

Hi Arco,

I just downloaded and installed Visual WebGui Express Studio NET4.0 .NETHTML5 / JQT Beta3 (without sources) and then downloaded and installed Catalog sample NET4.0 .NETHTML5/JQT Beta3 and I can open the Catalog solution just fine and I can see no entries in web.config that relate to any Gizmox 2.0.5701.0 assembly.

The references to the project are all runtime version v4.0.30319 / version 4.0.5701.0, so I am unable to reproduce this problem.

If you have web.config entries statiing Gizmox assemblies as v2.0.5701.0, then it looks like you have installed a NET2.0 version of the Catalog sample. I suggest that you uninstall and then redownload and see where that takes you.

 Hi Palli,

That is very very strange. Just to check if i am not getting crazy I deinstalled the catalog sample, checked if all files are gone, downloaded the setup again from the VisualWebGui site (VWG_Catalog_Sample_6.4.0_Release_JQT_Beta3_NET4.0.zip). installed it custom, not typical. I open the web.config from C:\Program Files\Gizmox\Visual WebGUI\Sources 4.0\Gizmox.WebGUI.Forms.Catalog and there are all these 2.0.5701.0 references in the web.config.

I am probably getting another file than you are getting from the website. If you want i can somehow send you the file I downloaded.

How can that be?

Arco

Re: Catalog sample not working

Hi Arco,

I think I will need to see that file in order to compare to the one I got downloaded. In case it was updated after it was initially uploaded, please do a Ctrl-F5 and then perform a delete of all temporary internet files (or the equivialent procedure depending on your browser) then download again and see if you get the exact same download this time.

If you do, please try to email the zip file to support. You can see the support email address in my signature. You should rename the .zip file to .xip for example so it will be more likely to pass email junk filters on the way. Please make sure you include an Http reference to this thread in you email and also please add a new message here after you have sent it so I can see it it made it through.
