System Requirements
Hello people, i am very new to this WebGUI stuff, and frankly its giving me migraines I have quite a number of questions, but i thought i should just start from the basics ... maybe thats where i am going wrong Ok ... For example - What version of IIS do i need for me to be able to host my WebGUI application? Currently i have 5.1 and it aint working - I have Visual Studio 2008 ... is the service pack compulsory? or will the application work all the same? - Anything else i need to know apart from this in terms of system requirements Before i proceed? Any help will be greatly appreciated ....

Re: System Requirements

Okay guys, i found out that Visual Studio 2008 already comes with service pack 1 so that bit is sorted, but i'm still working on hosting my application on IIS 5.1 ... will let those interested know if it succeeds ... if not, i'll let you know what did ...

Thanx

Re: System Requirements

Hi Solomon

Read the article here which shows you how to set up IIS7. Webgui applications will run on IIS6 as well. On a windows PC a hosted website needs IIS to run, unless you use Cassini for example.

Have a look at the link below

http://www.visualwebgui.com/Developers/Resources/Articles/tabid/327/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/588/IIS-7-Setup.aspx

Regards

Ewan

Re: System Requirements

Hi Solomon,

Visual WebGui application should also be able to run on IIS5 on your XP box, but having a multiuser web application running on an XP box is probably not a good idea, because of the limited connections that XP has for active connections. Don't remember exactly how many, but I think they are max 10.

You should be able to find information for IIS6 settings at the bottom of this article here, and for your XP it would be very similar.

Please let us know if you need any more assistance on this subject.

Thanks Ewan for your help here,

Palli

Hi people, thanx again for all your suggestions and contributions ... i tried everything you suggested

But apparently my VWG application still can't run on my IIS 5.1 Console ... however, if i type the URL

on my browser ... it opens ok, and i can even access it from other machines within my network, so
