Re: Automatic Logout when user is idle

Hi Ori

Did you get samsuree's code snippets? I just wanted to compare my version with his submission. My version is not working as expected because it automatically logs me out even if the system is not idle.

Thanks and regards.

CSE

Hello CSE,

This here is the code snippet article created by Suresh A.

Please reply to this message to tell me if it helped you in any way.

I can't really see how this would work without first setting the KeepConnectedLimitation setting to some integer larger than 0.

If you for example set the KeepConnectedInterval to 60000 and set the KeepConnectedLimitation to 3, you will get three KeepConnected requests: One after one minute, the second after two minutes and a third after three minutes, from the time of the last user initiated request.
If you then set the sessionState timeout Web.config configuration to 7, the session will be terminated seven minutes after the third KeepConnected request (10 minutes from the time of the last user initiated request).

Setting this.Context.HttpContext.Session.Timeout at runtime to 7, will only enforce the configuration you previously set in the Web.config.

Re: Automatic Logout when user is idle

 Hi Ori,

I would like to detect when user is idle only to show a modal dialog requesting username/password to unlock.

How I can do it with VWG ?
