Re: Latest code in SVN doesn't compile

Hello Kurt,

Basically whenever you update your sources and see that you do not get a bunch of assemblies in the Gizmox.WebGUI.Assemblies\bin directory you will know that your sources are probably not entirely in sync with the private sources.
This can result in compilation errors.
When you get those, it means you need to check for updates again until you do get those assemblies into that directory, that would mean that I ran a Nightly Build process just before, and your sources are probably in sync.

Re: Latest code in SVN doesn't compile

Aha, I see that its a bit of hit and miss affair, but I understand why!

I will make sure I back up my working SVN code before running an update in future.

Regards,

Kurt

Re: Latest code in SVN doesn't compile

Hi Kurt,

Yes, you are right on the spot there. Being a trunk version, it can be unstable at times.

A few months back, when I was using the open source code, I found it very tedious and just waiting for my failure to remember to do the backup. For a while I then had two folders, one for testing compilations and another for the real thing. Every time I did an update, I did it first on the test folder, and if that worked, I proceeded to the real one.

Later on I started trusting the restore points / previous versions on my Vista. I just updated, and if it didn't work, I restored a previous version of the folder via Vista's "Previous versions".
