Re: Silverlight build error
Hello Tim!

Please send to our support e-mail address the most minimal sample application that you can that would reproduce this undesirable behavior. Please also reply to this post saying that you sent it, so I would know to look for it.

Please also reply to this post with you Web.config file's xml so I could analyze it.

Regards,

Ori Cohen

Re: Silverlight build error
Modified By host on 8/31/2008 7:22:17 AM)

Ori,

I am getting what appears to be the same error at runtime:

throw

This is done by using VS.NET 2008, Silverlight 2 Beta 2, Visual Web Gui 6.1.3, Visual Web Gui Silverlight SDK 6.1.3 beta

Using VS.NET File|New|Project and select Visual WebGUI Silverlight Application and hit enter, compile, set the startup form as Form1.swgx and execute.

That's when I get this error everytime.  I have reinstalled all visual web gui components, and silverlight with no change.

Here is the web.config file that is unmodified by me.

The mechanism should be used in a deployment scenario to boost performance. The static

directly using the web server instead of dynamicly generated files. You should check that

there the site can write to that directory.

Set compilation debug="true" to enable ASPX debugging. Otherwise, setting this value to

false will improve runtime performance of this application.

Set compilation debug="true" to insert debugging symbols (.pdb information)

into the compiled page. Because this creates a larger file that executes

more slowly, you should set this value to true only when debugging and to

false at all other times. For more information, refer to the documentation about

debugging ASP.NET files.

<!--

Set customErrors mode="On" or "RemoteOnly" to enable custom error messages, "Off" to disable.

Add <error> tags for each of the errors you want to handle.

"On" Always display custom (friendly) messages.

"Off" Always display detailed ASP.NET error information.

"RemoteOnly" Display custom (friendly) messages only to users not running

on the local Web server. This setting is recommended for security purposes, so

that you do not display application detail information to remote clients.

<!--

This section sets the authentication policies of the application. Possible modes are "Windows",

"Forms", "Passport" and "None"

"None" No authentication is performed.

"Windows" IIS performs authentication (Basic, Digest, or Integrated Windows) according to

its settings for the application. Anonymous access must be disabled in IIS.

"Forms" You provide a custom form (Web page) for users to enter their credentials, and then

you authenticate them in your application. A user credential token is stored in a cookie.

"Passport" Authentication is performed via a centralized authentication service provided

by Microsoft that offers a single logon and core profile services for member sites.

This section sets the authorization policies of the application. You can allow or deny access

Application-level tracing enables trace log output for every page within an application.

Set trace enabled="true" to enable application trace logging. If pageOutput="true", the

trace information will be displayed at the bottom of each page. Otherwise, you can view the

application trace log by browsing the "trace.axd" page from your web application

root.

Re: Silverlight build error
Hello dlevite!

The web.config section you pasted in your post did not come out very clearly.
To see what the problem is in your application/environment I'd need you to please send us this sample application to support [at] visualwebgui [dot] com, so we would be able to investigate it more deeply.
I'd need you to also provide us more information such as what operating system you are using + service pack and the culture [language-country].
Please also reply to this post after sending your application so I'd know to check for it.

By the way, there is no point currently, in changing the authentication mode from "Main" to "Dialog", as we currently do not yet support a dialog authentication mode. Using "Dialog" as you mode, you will still get the result of using the regular "Main" configuration.
