DataSets and TableAdapters not showing in ComponentTray of Designer

Hi,

Dropping DataSet or TableAdapter onto a form does not show those components in Component Tray.

BindingSource shows.

Issue opened that you can track here.

Hi, Palli,

Issues with bindingsource vs adapter/dataset have been evident for a long time (in my experience)..

Hasn't this been raised before?

to be more constructive...

I use the dataset designer in Winofrms and copy the dataset files and code into the VWG project, do some find and replace, then it works OK.

But, can't use the VWG designer for any dataset/bindingsource etc and have a useful outcome.

IMO, this, and other bugs, is far more important than the completion of the theme designer, an opinion expressed by others.

Hello Geoff,

If you know of any specific design-time bugs that have to do with DataSets or any other component, please open new threads in this forum here, and report them.
We will take these issues very seriously, I assure you.

BTW, just as a suggestion and without undermining the importance of have fully functional DataSets in VWG:
VWG if mainly a web-deployment platform. Generally it is considered a mal-practice to use DataSets in web applications. Please consider the same pefromance best parctices established for ASP.NET applications (here), when developing VWG applications.
