6.3.10 - DataGridView bound to object list add new record broken

Hi,

Long time no post! Anyhow, I have been using 6.3.8.a quite happily but upgraded to 6.3.10 today to hopefully fix issues around combo boxes in the DataGridView. I have hit a brick wall with the DataGridView. When trying to add a new row, by clicking on the empty row, I get an error. It only pops up when I move to the second column by pressing enter, TAB or clicking on the column.

[InvalidOperationException: Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object.]
   Gizmox.WebGUI.Server.Content.ProcessRequest(HttpContext objHttpContext) +2048

[HttpException (0x80004005): Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object.]
   Gizmox.WebGUI.Server.Content.ProcessRequest(HttpContext objHttpContext) +6122
   System.Web.CallHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() +181
   System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) +75

I have cleared my Cache as per listed instructions but still get this. The object lists bound to my DataGridView are generated from the Entity Framework, which manages my applications object persistence.

Regards,

Kurt

Re: 6.3.10 - DataGridView bound to object list add new record broken

I have the exact same issue but don´t want to repost in the commercial forum.

Also using EF and a bindable list (BindingList<>) bound to the DataGrid´s DataSource. Additionally VWG throws wild expceptions about not being able to make an invisible cell a current sell like described here.

Please let us know how to proceed!

Hi guys,

El, can you confirm if you are using 6.3.10 ? If you are, please confirm if you have followed the procedure to clear the cache completely, like you can see on the Wiki here. This error should have been fixed in 6.3.10, so this really does smell like caching issue. Please confirm. I did also download the sample app attached to the issue, and run it in 6.3.10 without errors, so if you still have an error, you do have another scenario than for that app. Please create a minimal sample application and send to support so we can take a look (email in signature).

Kurt, El: Please either of you provide a minimal sample application so we can reproduce and send it to support.

Re: 6.3.10 - DataGridView bound to object list add new record broken

Still doesn´t work. Did all the steps suggested in Wiki. Sorry, I don´t have time to prepare a DB, EF, BindableList, GridView sample right now. Hope you will nail the bug soon - will try to work around it for now.

Hello Kurt,

Based on Palli and El's last posts in this thread I need to ask you to please follow the cache clearing procedure as detailed in this wiki article here.
After completing this procedure if you still get this exception, please send us a sample application reproducing this problem over VWG v6.3.10 to Support [at] VisualWebGui [dot] com, with a link to this forum thread.
Please also clean the solution before compressing it and reply to this post after sending, with the subject of the e-mail you send, so I would know to check for your support request.
