Catalog 4.0 Navigation Tab question

I have been looking at the Catalog 4.0 RC sample to see how the navigation tabs work.  The basic functionality i am looking for is the slider concept.

I am new to VWG and I must admit that I have no idea how the sliders are being put into the NavigationTab.  I can see the CatelogTree in the webconfig but I can't see how they are being put into the NavigationTab to create the 4 sliders.

Can you enlighten me?

Thanks,

Shawn

Hi Shawn,

I'm not sure what you mean by Sliders - do you mean that when you click the navigation tabs for "controls", "behaviours", "Dialogs" & "Applications" the top part of the Left Hand Side changes display?

Or do you mean that you can "grab" the side of the navigation tab and make the left hand side that displays them wider & narrower?

Sorry I wasn't clear.  I will try to explain my need better....

In the catalog sample there is a navagation tab.  It has nothing in it when you look at it in the VS design interface.  When I run the application, I get really slick looking bars (these are what I called sliders).

My question really has multiple parts:

1.  Where do the bars (controls, behaviors, Dialog..." come from?  Are they panels?  If so how are they loaded?  There is so much in the catalog sample that I, as a ASP Classic developer, have trouble making out what goes with which example.

2. If the sliders are panels or user controls where are those at in the project?  I would like to be able to reproduce what was done in the catalog.

If that was not clear please let me know and I will make another attempt.

Thanks for the response.

I would be grateful for any info how do to do that leftside nav from the catalog example.

Shawn

Re: Catalog 4.0 Navigation Tab question

Oh the joy of being new to .net and VWG...

This post is for others that don't know what they are doing....

The navigationTabs look to be pretty simlple after all.

The first thing is that it has to be registered under the "My Project / Registration" tab.  Then just add TabPages to the collection in the designer and build.

I couldn't figure it out from the catalog example because I was trying to figure out how to get the tabs on the control using just code as the example did.
