Problem with RibbonBar

I am running VWG 6.4

I have added WebGUI.Forms.Office 4.0.5701.0 (copy local) to my project.  I have RibbonBar registered.  I have deleted the files out of BIN and OBJ and have cleared my Microsoft.net/Temp files.

I added the RibbonBar component to my Toolbox

But I don't see the RibbonBar toolbox items for Group, and the others.  How do I get them added so I can use them?  I am assuming that once they are on the toolbar that I just drag them over the RibbonBar to add them.  Is that correct?

Thanks,

Shawn

Re: Problem with RibbonBar

Hi Shawn,

The RibbonBar subcontrols are not supported yet to be used from the ToolBox of Visual Studio. See here.

You will have to go to the property grid of the RibbonBar control itself, and open the control collections and use the Add methods presented in those collection editors.

Hope this helps,

Palli

Thank you for that bit of info.

You say to go to the property gid, and I see that that is thru the Pages collection.

Is there an example you could point me to?

It also doesn't show how I could enable or disable features as I need to.  I also dont understand how to hook events up to the various buttons.

Also, when inside a RibbonBarGroup there is a property called "HasAdvanced".  What is this?

Sorry to ask the simple questions, but I am having trouble.

Thanks again,

Shawn

Re: Problem with RibbonBar

Hi Shawn,

We have two samples for RibbonBar demo, one is inside the Catalog sample application, and the other is in the CompanionKit here.

The HasAdvanced property on a group will render a clickable area on the Group where you can click for Expand and Shrink the group, meant for simple and advanced mode of the group. You will get an AdvancedClicked event fired when user clicks on this area, and that you can use to set your Group's components to visible or not, depending on the Advanced mode of the group.

Hope this helps,

Palli
