Re: FCK Editor causes all controls to become non-responsive

Hello Andrew,

VWG-6675 is now scheduled to VWG v6.3.15.
This is as quick as we can handle this issue.

VWG v6.4 Beta2 will be released soon and work on VWG v6.3.15 is planed to start right after that release.

Regards,

Ori Cohen

Hi Ori,

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be fixed.  Even after pulling the latest resources and code from subversion I still see the same behaiviour.

The problem only occurs when you enter around 520 characters into the FCK editor.  Please take the original sample applicatioin I submitted and test it with large blocks of text.  I can recreate the problem consistently.  I no longer see a javascript error, but my session is locked up and button click events no longer fire.

Thanks,
Andrew

Re: FCK Editor causes all controls to become non-responsive

Hi Andrew,

I downloaded the sample attached to this issue here, which I believe is originated from you. I tested on IE8, the project as it was downloaded, with 6.3.15 and cache cleared and I got JS errors.

Updating FCKEditor folder, replacing it with the contents of the SVN 6.3.15 branch's copy, I was unable to reproduce the error. I tested up to 2K of text, but was unable to reproduce any JS error in IE8.

Thanks Palli,

With the latest code from subversion in the FCKEditor folder I no longer receive JS errors.  The only problem I have is that the session hangs, and none of the button click events fire.  So, at least on my box, when I paste over 600 (estimated) characters into the FCK Editor and click Save my entire session hangs.

I tested this further and I am unable to recreate this behaiviour in IE8 or FF, I can only create it in IE7.  I'll send a demonstration video to your support address.  Please let me know if you haven't received it, I've had trouble sending you email attachments in the past.

Thanks,
Andrew

Re: FCK Editor causes all controls to become non-responsive

Hi Andrew,

Did you at any time deploy your application to an IIS server to another subfolder than the root ?

I'm trying to test on an IE7, which I only have on a Virtual Machine, but I think I might have found some issue here which I will explore further and report shortly.

Anyway, judging from the application attached to the issue, then that application is using FCKLibrary, which has not been updated for a very long time. Have you tried using the FCKEditor from Gizmox.WebGui.Forms.Editors, which is inside the Extended Dll ?

In any case, please email your current version of the project to support so I will have the exact same version as you are using.
