Ribbon Bar Look and Feel
Modified By jharmon@blinfo.com on 3/28/2012 11:09:54 AM)

I believe the Ribbon Bar is still under construction so was wondering if I could suggest a few things?  Let me start out by saying I am excited about the enhancements and what VWG is doing to enhance the ribbon bar and am looking forward to integrating it with our project once the look and feel is more like Microsoft's ribbon bar.

Below are two images.  The first one is from VWG's ribbon bar and the second is from Microsoft's ribbon bar.

Notice the following:

1.) The color scheme does not match.  Image two has a lighter panel going across the whole top section underneath the start button.
2.) VWG's ribbon bar has a lot of wasted space below the Start button compared to Microsoft's.  The tabs should be much closer like image two shows so space is not wasted.
3.) The quick access bar dropdown menu should be next to the buttons and not all the way to the right of the ribbon bar.  Also, can buttons be placed on the quick access dropdown like Microsoft has?

If these fixes are already in the works sorry to take up your time.  If not, I hope they can be added.  I haven't added any buttons yet for I don't want to waste too much time if the cosmetic things below are not fixed.

Thanks, Joe

Re: Ribbon Bar Look and Feel

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the report.

I forwarded this thread to our designer, which will either respond directly or the support team will, after receiving updates from him.

Re: Ribbon Bar Look and Feel

 Hi Joe

Thank you for noting.
The look and feel of this control is still in process it will be fixed for the next release. I wrote an issue to our task tracker (VWG-10989
) regarding your point #1.

For point #2, the space is a place holder for the "ContextualTabGroup", run the RibbonBar without it and it should should be OK.

Regards
