I spoke with the lead developer, presenting my idea for a temporary solution using theme override, but it turns out that it will take more effort to come up with a usable solution. If this is something that is very important for you, about the only option I can suggest is our commercial issue reprioritization service, which is a chargable service, but allows you in some cases to have the tracker entry scheduled to an earlier release. This can not always happen though, depending on the intensity of the changes required and their de-stabilization effects.
