Re: Swipe doesnt work on Android and with control in view

Hi Tom,

Regarding the roadmap, then to make sure that you fully understand that the current .NETHTML5 Beta version is a jQuery based framework with HTML5 support, but it is still almost equivialent to the WinWeb version in all major areas. This .NETHTML5 Beta is just the first step towards the mobile designated framework, where we will add full support for the mobile specific features.

Performance is one those issues that will be addressed in that mobile designated framework, and as far as I best know, the current .NETHTML5 is just a WinWeb version running on a jQuery core client code, so it's not really telling the full story of what is there around the corner.

Hope this explains,

Palli

Hello Tom,

Swipe can be implemented to Android, in the same way that we implemented drag and drop to our controls.
It will not be exactly the same as an operating system native feature, but it will work great.
This feature will be included in the mobile designated framework.

Please realize that our current controls are built for PC browsers to allow for functionality that is not relevant and not even possible in mobile devices, but is available and relevant for PC. As a result our controls may give kind of a heavy feel on mobile devices when being used, scrolled, etc.
In the mobile designated framework, the mobile client core will loose a lot of weight, only keeping the functionality that is relevant and adding whatever functionality that is specific to mobile devices that is relevant. As a result, all the controls will be lighter, faster to render and quicker to respond. Also the rendered HTML will be smaller and much less complex, so scrolling will perform much better.
