Silverlight over VWG CTP version provides preview of simplified, windows forms, drag and drop based, programming experience, and more powerful Silverlight GUI, without compromise on the animation, graphical and media capabilities of Silverlight.
 
Silverlight over VWG no client dependent architecture, ensures enhanced performance and small stable client footprint regardless of the application size and weight. Also, this architecture secures application by no open services, no logic and no data on the client.
 
 Download of the new CTP will be available, from VWG website, as from 12th of February 2008.
 
Silverlight over VWG CPT Version enables:
·         Data Binding – to server side data and state
·         Windows Management
·         Context Menus
·         Enhanced layout such as: Grid Layout, Wrap Layout , Docking and Anchoring
·         Fully functional designer
·         Scrolling capabilities
And controls such as:
·         TextBox
·         ComboBox
·         ListBox
·         ListView
·         CheckBox
·         DateTimePicker
·         MonthCalendar
·         PropertyGrid
·         TreeView
·         GroupBox
·         TabControl and Outlook-like navigation tabs control
·         Button
·         ToolBar
·         MenuStrip
·         Timers
·         Radio Button
·         Dialogs Windows (modal and non-modal)
 
Silverlight over VWG beta version is expected to be shipped May 2008, with more advanced CTP versions shipped in between. Next version  will support themes development and an improved developer/designer interaction and a complete set of WinForms compliant controls including DataGridView, virtual lists capabilities for controls enabling data intensive applications and other exiting features.
