In order to showcase VWG’s abilities, Microsoft Outlook which already has a corresponding web application (Outlook Web Access) was chosen as a target. A single VWG developer transformed the desktop Outlook into a VWG web application in an astounding period of one month. The result, as you can see is an Outlook-like web application with desktop responsiveness & performance.
Project “Webmail” also displays the power of developing a VWG application while demonstrating the abilities to create a real world web application using Visual WebGui. VWG "Webmail" illustrates an email management application that allows users to manage multiple email accounts from different vendors in one place, while fulfilling all the standard email applications client abilities.
In addition, this application demonstrates the Visual WebGui’s unique feature that allows a single development for multiple deployments: DHTML or Silverlight, side by side presentation layers. The VWG development team estimates that a fully functional Outlook like Webmail application is attainable in an additional development period of two months by that single developer.
