Problem installing VWG SDK20 6.1.3

Hi,

I have just switched to a new machine for development similar to my previous one ... using Vista/Vs2008/Framework 2.5. I am transferring projects across.

This was working OK on the previous machine. Now I cannot install the download because I get

Visual WebGui requires "Visual Studio 2005 Web Application Projects". Answer Yes No dialog. If I answer no, it doesn't seem to continue.

But actually I don't need this because I have VS2008SP1 (required for SQL 2008).

Now i guess this worked before because I installed SP1 after VWG on the first machine.

SP1 is a half GIG download plus a 2 hour install on my machine. Do I really need to de-install SP1, install VWG 2.5, and then re-install, or is there a quicker way.

Note I am using Framework 2.5 with VS2008 due to other dependencies.

I think you have the wrong VWG version there is one for 2005 and one to 2008 check it out here

Hi,

No this is exactly my point. This is a list of downloads for different .NET framework versions NOT different VS versions.

You are tying the two together and you should not. That is why my installation is failing.

I want to use Framework 2 in VS2008 (because that is the VS product I have, and it supports it, and I have other non VWG 2.0 dependencies).

The installation has a dependency on a VS2005 requirement, it should not have that.

I can only solve it by installing vs2005, why do I need to do that?

I just noted 6.2 is to have a universal installer ... is this entanglement sorted out in 6.2?

Hi,
We will try and add it to version 6.2.
If we won't be able then the version after that will have this option.
Our installation is very complex we will have to see how we will be able to do this.
