How many hosting sites are there that have registered .wgx & . swgx extensions

Hi, I'm thinking of using webGUI to write a web app.

will it be a problem  to find a server to host my site?

There are quite a bit, but keep in mind that VWG  deploys like ASP.NET and you can change the extension accordingly, so that should not worry you

Hi Navot,

Thanks for your reply. How and where do I change .wgx to .aspx. ?

I thought that the hosting server had to register the .wgx extension as I

do when I install VWGUI.

Thanks

David

You need to do two things in your project.

First, change Web.Config under the httpHandlers section. Change path="*.wgx" to path="*.aspx" and then you need to go into the properties of your project and in the Web tab you change the Specific page start action from your "Form1.wgx" to "Form1.aspx".

Maybe there is more to it that I don't know about, but then someone will probably step in and correct me :-)

Hi,

In addition to the information provided by Pali, I believe you also need to add the Extension element to the WebGUI section of the web.config. This will instruct the router to use the new extension for all the urls generated, remember to up the PrivateVersion number just incase.

Hope this helps

Chris
