Re: Drag image from non tree controls broken?
Hello Happy!

I guess there has been a big misunderstanding throughout our conversation here. When you said "broken image" I thought that that is what you called the image that we are using.

I now understand that when you say "broken image" you mean the icon that is used in the browser, as a placeholder for a missing image.

Probably one of the reasons for the confusion was that we do have a default drag image. For some reason though your browser doesn't get it.

I checked the VWG v6.1.4 and v6.2.1 catalog and found no problem with the image. It is displayed properly.

Check the machine on which you get the problems, if there is one or more previous VWG installation. If there is, remove all installations including the new (v6.2.1) one and then reinstall the new one (or the new v6.2.2).

Also what you need to do is the following:
- Remove all browser cache from your system.
- Remove all VWG server cache in the following way: Go to
%WINDIR%\Microsoft.NET on your local workstation. Perform a file search in
this folder for "Gizmox.*.dll". Delete all the files that you find. Make sure that
you stop all the VisualStudio and IIS webservers before attempting to delete.

If this doesn't fix the missing image problem, please reply with the the following information:
- The MS Visual Studio you are using + service pack.
- The operating system you are working on.
- Specify if you are using themes, and is yes, are you overriding files in the Skins directory.
- Specify if you are using custom styles.

Re: Drag image from non tree controls broken?

I just downloaded 6.2.2a. I completely deleted all my temp aspnet files. I also uninstalled the prior version before installing 6.2.2a. The problem still happens for me. When I drag FROM a tree node, it's shows a drag image of the tree node. When I drag from anything else, it's a broken image red X icon. I also downloaded your latest catalog code. The SAME problem happens in the catalog code using the latest version of webgui. I don't know why it works on your online version but it looks like some resource or something isn't properly added.

I'm on XP SP3, Visual Studio 2008 SP1, .net 3.5 SP1. Cleared all my cache's, etc. Default theme. Vista theme.

The fact that the catalog I just downloaded stills shows a tree node image when dragging instead of the broken red X makes me thing that your latest change is not properly in the code?

Hi !

I just tried the same. With VWG 6.2.2a NET 3.5 running on VS2008 development server in IE7. Dragging a tree node shows the "red X" icon. Dragging from other controls also has "red X" icon.

Switching to FF3, and the icon is OK. Icon also ok in FF3 dragging from other controls like ListBox.

Switching to the Vista Theme has same "red X" icon as the drag icon in IE7 and ok in FF3

Environment Vista Ultimate 32 bit.

Re: Drag image from non tree controls broken?

Hi again !

As my final note on this today :-) then deploying to IIS7 on my Vista or running with the VS2008 dev web server has same result. Red-x icon for IE and working for FF3.

Re: Drag image from non tree controls broken?
Hello Palli!

Wow great! I am so happy you found the cause of this problem.
As far as we know, until now only 'HappyFirst' was able to reproduce this bug.

I opened a new issue on the subject, scheduled to be fixed in VWG v6.2.3.
Please view it here and track out progress.
