Overview
Rouen Business School is an AMBA accredited institution located in Rouen, Normandy, France meeting the highest international standards. The school employs about 120 staff, 90 permanent teachers and 500 lecturers. “Customers” are students, companies, teachers, partner universities and alumni, which represent more than 5000 people.

Business needs
Two years ago, Rouen Business School decided to develop and implement a proprietary information system in-house. The objective was to administer all the data encompassed by a classic 3500 Students business school: from on-line application forms to the registration system including financial information, scheduling, grades management, etc.

The requirements called for a very fast and secure development capacity to manage the field data using clear interfaces (UI) with a professional design. Subsequently, the team believed that a pure web interface would be the best solution in terms of deployment and information update.

It was decided to build the system on a typical Microsoft infrastructure: SQL server 2005 database, Web service and asp.net Ajax websites for public web access. As for the user interface which has to manage the large amount of information that the Rouen Business School staff would have to handle a different solution was needed.

The Solution
The development team at Rouen Business School evaluated Visual WebGui for the user interface of their system. "When we tested the Visual WebGui solution we were really amazed and enthusiastic. It was exactly the kind of solution we were looking for. The Microsoft Outlook-like interface allows us to spend very little time explaining how our solution works. The great performance of the solution allows us to manage a large amount of information with no delay with a very positive feedback at the user end," said Stéphane Henry the IT Project Manager of the school.

As a result of the fast development, easy deployment, performance, and professional design that the team experienced with Visual WebGui, the entire back office of Rouen Business School information system was chosen to be developed with the Visual WebGui framework "and after two years we do not see any reason to change this," commented Stéphane Henry who added that "all the original requirements were satisfied using Visual WebGui."

Benefits
Due to Visual WebGui, the Rouen Business School IT department successfully reached 90% of the initial goals in only two years and five developers. This represents over one hundred different forms, managing one gigabyte of data, in a single web site.
