Gizmox Story
Gizmox was founded in 2007 by a group of entrepreneurs with deep experience in enterprise IT infrastructure technologies, HTML5–based mobile development, and familiarity with the Microsoft developer ecosystem. The team focused on providing solutions for creating browser-based applications that could support the data intensity and business logic of enterprise apps with rich, responsive user interfaces. The emphasis was on leveraging standard browser environments without the need for client plug-ins. The company has maintained this focus as businesses are accelerating their move away from desktop client/server applications towards platforms optimized for web and mobile. Visual WebGui was originally launched in 2007 and has since been downloaded over 1,000,000 times. As the leading Microsoft Visual Studio plugin for creating native HTML5 applications, Visual WebGui has been used to develop over 35,000 production applications at organizations including SAP, IBM, Siemens, Visa, Sony, Xerox, Williams, Israel Aerospace Industry, and Texas Instruments. As Visual WebGui gained popularity as a platform for creating and deploying web and mobile applications, the Gizmox team observed how common it was for developers to spend their time re-writing critical business apps originally developed in older technologies like VB6.  In response, Gizmox introduced Transposition Studio in 2012. Designed to automate repetitive tasks associated with software re-writes, Gizmox Transposition leverages patented compiler algorithms to radically simplify the process of converting existing applications to modern frameworks. The company has strategic alliances with both Microsoft and Citrix (also an investor) for co-marketing of products and joint R&D.
