Let me preface this article with the statement that I am not a web developer by experience. I have certainly worked in the web development arena; however, I am merely a novice. With that being said, I wanted to share information about a framework that I stumbled upon on a tool search roughly a year and half ago. The framework is referred to as Visual WebGui. The Visual WebGui platform enables non-web developers the ability to quickly and easily build business applications allowing for easy deployment to the web.
I was nothing short of amazed when I first downloaded and used the community version of the platform. Part of my amazement stemmed from the click-and-drag form building designer. This was the area of web development that just did not exist. I could build my windows form in the same fashion that I would normally perform the operation; however, my windows form could now be rendered in the tradition web browser.
Since I first starting using the framework, Visual WebGui has grown from a primarily community driven software framework which now offers a commercial version that my company eventually purchased. A showcase or case study of the software solution developed internally at my company can be found here. I am a true supporter of the framework to allow for the quick and easy development and web deployment of business software applications.
